Delivering Safe Water Through Community & Technology
On June 12th, 2022, the community of Agona Bedomase in Ghana’s Ashanti Region officially took ownership of their Hive-supported borehole water system. What once required long walks to distant rivers has now been replaced with safe, reliable access to clean water at the heart of the community. This project marks the second successfully completed borehole in Ghana, reinforcing a growing movement of blockchain-powered social impact.
The inauguration ceremony brought together community members, local authorities, and traditional leadership, including the chief of Agona Bedomase. With prayers, speeches, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the borehole was formally dedicated to the people. The joy and gratitude expressed by residents reflected more than appreciation — it signified relief, dignity, and a new chapter for the town.
The second borehole stands as a testament to what transparent funding, strong local collaboration, and innovative technology can achieve. Today, families in Agona Bedomase enjoy improved water access, better health prospects, and renewed optimism for the future.
