Providing clean water access through community partnership.

The commissioning of the fifth WellsForAll borehole in Jamasi Dawu marked another significant milestone in the mission to provide clean and accessible water to communities in Ghana. On Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, the community gathered at the durbar grounds for the official inauguration ceremony. The event was organised in collaboration with the chief, elders, and residents of Jamasi Dawu, who warmly welcomed the initiative and eagerly anticipated the life-changing impact the borehole would bring.

Preparations for the launch brought the entire community together. Tents were arranged to host the chief, his elders, and invited guests, while students and teachers from nearby schools attended to celebrate the occasion. Community members also contributed artwork and decorations that made the event memorable. The presence of local media further helped share the story of how innovative support and collaboration can transform communities through access to clean water.

During the ceremony, the chief and elders arrived at the scheduled time to officially open the borehole. The event began with prayers led by one of the sub-chiefs, followed by remarks introducing the initiative and its purpose. Community leaders and residents expressed excitement and gratitude as they witnessed the successful delivery of a vital water source that would improve health, reduce the burden of long walks for water, and bring lasting benefits to Jamasi Dawu and surrounding villages.
